Minor/Youth Creator Policy

1 Age Requirements

NovaReelOS enforces the following age thresholds:

• 13+ to use the platform -- you must be at least 13 years old to create a NovaReelOS account. Users under 13 are not permitted under any circumstances.
• 16+ for direct messaging -- users between 13-15 cannot use direct messaging features unless parental consent is verified.
• 18+ for monetization -- brand partnerships, hire requests, and any financial transactions require the user to be at least 18 years old.
• 18+ for LIVE streaming -- the LIVE studio is only available to users who are 18 or older.

2 Parental Consent (Ages 13-17)

For users between 13 and 17 years of age:

• A parent or legal guardian must provide verifiable consent before the account can be fully activated
• Consent is collected via a parental consent email sent to the guardian's email address provided during registration
• The guardian must confirm their identity and authorize the minor's account
• Parents/guardians can request account deletion at any time by contacting legal@novareelos.com
• Parents/guardians can request access to their minor's data at any time

3 Content Restrictions for Minors

Accounts belonging to users under 18 are subject to additional safeguards:

• Restricted content visibility -- mature or sensitive content is hidden from minor accounts
• Comment filtering -- enhanced comment filtering is enabled by default
• No sponsored content -- minors cannot participate in brand partnerships or sponsored posts
• Limited discoverability -- minor accounts are not surfaced in brand discovery or hire flows
• Download restrictions -- other users cannot download content posted by minors

4 Privacy Protections (COPPA Compliance)

NovaReelOS complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar international regulations:

• Minimal data collection -- we collect only the data necessary to operate the account for users under 18
• No behavioral advertising -- we do not serve targeted ads to users under 18
• No third-party data sharing -- personal data of minors is never shared with third parties for marketing
• No analytics tracking -- enhanced analytics and conversion tracking (e.g., TikTok Events API) are disabled for minor accounts
• Parental access -- parents can review, modify, or delete their child's data by contacting us
• Data retention -- if a minor's account is deleted, all associated data is purged within 30 days

5 Reporting Underage Accounts

If you believe a user is under 13 or is a minor using the platform without parental consent:

• Use the Report button on their profile and select "Underage user"
• Contact us at legal@novareelos.com with the profile URL
• Use our Legal Contact form

We investigate all reports of underage accounts within 24 hours. If an account is confirmed to belong to a user under 13, it is immediately suspended and all data is deleted.
